Science and Religion v Spirituality and Health v Character Development v Business and Spirituality
Templeton Foundation Press has published the first American edition of Russell Stannard's young adult novel www.Here-I-Am. First published in the United Kingdom, www.Here-I-Am has been translated into 19 languages with over 12,000 copies in print. The book presents an accessible look at the relationship between science and religion via a lively online conversation between a mysterious entity claiming to be God and a fourteen-year-old named Sam.
One day Sam was surfing the web and stumbled across a peculiar website. This site claimed to be God's website. Could it be? Or was it a joke-the work of a hacker. Something wasn't right.
Sam decided
to delve deeper, and became engrossed in conversations with the stranger
on the other end of the computer, soon challenging the mysterious being
on the website as they explored the great questions arising out of evolution,
astronomy, cosmology, the laws of nature, and the possibility of miracles. Sam
knew very little about science, but the stranger was able to explain everything
they discussed in a way that Sam could understand. The two went on to tackle
more intense emotional issues, like evil, suffering, and death, which really
got Sam thinking.
As the conversations continued, Sam's sense of wonder increased ... who really was this mysterious person occupying the computer ... was the intruder really God (but God on the Internet) or a simply a hacker enjoying a practical joke? Author Russell Stannard carefully and creatively allows readers to make up their own minds throughout the book. Stannard continues this theme by closing the book with an Epilogue entitled, "Things to Think About" making www.Here-I-Am ideal for young adult reading and discussion groups.
Russell Stannard is emeritus professor of physics at the Open University, the United Kingdom's largest university. Besides his personal contributions to the science/religion dialogue, he has written a number of best-selling books introducing children to modern science, and is a well-known television and radio broadcaster in the United Kingdom. Templeton Foundation Press also publishes his book God for the 21st Century.

Investor Politics
The New Force That Will Transform American Business, Government,
and Politics in the Twenty-First Century
John Hood
Hood has delivered a thoughtful and very engaging text that will help move the debate from the last century's entitlement-dependent view of society to the country's Jeffersonian roots of self-reliance. In this century, as the author notes, growing financial sophistication converging with an impending demographic crisis caused by retirement of the baby boomers is offering us a way to avoid the looming train wreck of Social Security. We should look at that convergence as an opportunity to create Social Security private accounts and continue expanding the investor class by further reductions in the tax penalty on saving.

The Mind of the Universe
Understanding Science and Religion
Mariano Artigas
There are still too few books devoted to the relations between science and religion that are scientifically accurate, theologically sound and philosophically cogent, and this is certainly one of them. Professor Artigas is a physicist who is now dean of the Ecclesiastical Faculty at the Catholic University of Navarra in Spain, and for many years has studied the philosophy of science and its connections with theology. He seems to have read all the more important books and has brought together the results of his studies in a book that deserves to be widely read and used as the basis of courses in schools and colleges. This is a book for everyone interested in the science-religion dialogue, and a copy should be in every college library.

Words of Gratitude by Robert Emmons and Joanna Hill is a compact treatise for helping us find ways to express our gratitude.
